- Outstanding international applicants pursuing a PhD in High-Performance Computing (HPC) and related fields
- Master’s (or equivalent) graduates in Computer Science, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, or Engineering
- Candidates eager to conduct HPC research in collaboration with NHR Centers in Germany

- During secondments, host NHR Center typically arranges travel, housing, and living expenses (terms may vary if the host is an affiliated research group)
Qualifications
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, or Engineering
- Must meet the doctoral admission requirements of the target NHR Center/university (discipline-specific regulations apply)
- Strong motivation to advance HPC research; clear alignment with NHR research topics
- Required documents include:
- Motivation Letter (academic goals, career objectives, specific HPC interests)
- Curriculum Vitae (studies, achievements, publications)
- Research Statement (intended dissertation topic / central project)
- Official transcripts and degree certificates (with official English or German translations if needed)
- Proof of English proficiency (if applicable): TOEFL iBT 79+ / IELTS 6.5+ / Cambridge C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency (PE 180+); or institutional proof that prior education was in English
- At least one Recommendation Letter from a faculty member/professor
