BFAR Scholarship Program
Who May Apply
- Qualified senior high school graduates or graduating students who meet specific eligibility criteria under three program categories:
- Fisherfolk Children Educational Grant (FCEG)
- Fisheries Industry Leaders Grant (FILG)
- Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples Grant (ICCs/IPs)
- Fisherfolk Children Educational Grant (FCEG)
- Must be natural-born Filipino citizens
- Each track has specific requirements on academic standing, residency, family affiliation (e.g., registered fisherfolk or Indigenous group), and moral character
- Must not be older than 25 years old at the time of examination
Benefits
Scholars may enjoy the following benefits:
- Full tuition and other school fees (excluding dormitory fees)
- Monthly stipend of ₱5,000
- Semestral book allowance of ₱2,000
- On-the-job training (OJT) support of ₱3,000
- Research/thesis/special problem support of ₱7,000
- Graduation support of ₱1,500
Qualifications
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
- For Fisherfolk Children Educational Grant (FCEG)
- Parent/guardian must be a registered fisherfolk
- Applicant must be a senior high school graduate or graduating student with a GWA of at least 80%
- Must not have any college units and be no older than 25
- Must be of good moral character and a resident of the municipality where the scholarship is allotted
- Parent/guardian must be a registered fisherfolk
- For Fisheries Industry Leaders Grant (FILG)
- Must belong to the top 10 of the graduating class
- Must have a GWA of at least 80% in the last 3 semesters
- Must not have any college units and be no older than 25
- Must be of good moral character and a resident of the municipality where the scholarship is allotted
- Must belong to the top 10 of the graduating class
- For ICCs/IPs Scholarship
- Must be a bona fide member of a recognized ICC/IP group
- Must be an ALS, HS, or SHS graduate or graduating student with at least 80% GWA
- Must not be older than 25
- Must be of good moral character and a resident of the ICCs/municipality where the scholarship is allotted
- Must be part of a clan of “Pamulalakaw” (water guardians), certified by IPS or community leader
- Must be a bona fide member of a recognized ICC/IP group
