Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) Program 2025–2026 – Funded Master’s and PhD Studies

Who may apply

  • Graduate students pursuing full-time Master’s or Doctoral studies at participating universities in Ontario, Canada.
  • Open to both domestic and international students from all academic disciplines.
  • Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence, strong research potential, and commitment to innovation.

Benefits

Scholars may enjoy the following benefits:

  • Funding of CAD $10,000 for two consecutive study terms or CAD $15,000 for three consecutive study terms within an academic year.
  • Renewable for a maximum of two academic years for Master’s students and up to four academic years for Doctoral students.
  • Cumulative lifetime funding limit of six years of OGS support across all graduate studies.
  • Recognition as part of a highly competitive and prestigious provincial scholarship program.
  • Collaborative support model — two-thirds of funding from the Province of Ontario and one-third from the university.

Qualifications

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in a Master’s or PhD program at a participating Ontario university.
  • Must have an excellent academic record and research aptitude.
  • Must be registered for at least two consecutive academic terms within one academic year.
  • Must meet the specific eligibility and application requirements of the chosen Ontario institution.
  • Must submit required academic documents, references, and proof of citizenship or residency.
  • Must be studying at one of the following participating universities:
    • Brock University,
    • Carleton University,
    • University of Guelph,
    • Lakehead University,
    • Laurentian University,
    • McMaster University,
    • Nipissing University,
    • OCAD University,
    • Ontario Tech University,
    • University of Ottawa,
    • Queen’s University,
    • Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson),
    • University of Toronto,
    • Trent University,
    • University of Waterloo,
    • Western University,
    • Wilfrid Laurier University,
    • University of Windsor, or
    • York University.
