- Graduate students pursuing full-time Master’s or Doctoral studies at participating universities in Ontario, Canada.
- Open to both domestic and international students from all academic disciplines.
- Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence, strong research potential, and commitment to innovation.
Benefits
Scholars may enjoy the following benefits:
- Funding of CAD $10,000 for two consecutive study terms or CAD $15,000 for three consecutive study terms within an academic year.
- Renewable for a maximum of two academic years for Master’s students and up to four academic years for Doctoral students.
- Cumulative lifetime funding limit of six years of OGS support across all graduate studies.
- Recognition as part of a highly competitive and prestigious provincial scholarship program.
- Collaborative support model — two-thirds of funding from the Province of Ontario and one-third from the university.
Qualifications
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
- Must be enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in a Master’s or PhD program at a participating Ontario university.
- Must have an excellent academic record and research aptitude.
- Must be registered for at least two consecutive academic terms within one academic year.
- Must meet the specific eligibility and application requirements of the chosen Ontario institution.
- Must submit required academic documents, references, and proof of citizenship or residency.
- Must be studying at one of the following participating universities:
- Brock University,
- Carleton University,
- University of Guelph,
- Lakehead University,
- Laurentian University,
- McMaster University,
- Nipissing University,
- OCAD University,
- Ontario Tech University,
- University of Ottawa,
- Queen’s University,
- Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson),
- University of Toronto,
- Trent University,
- University of Waterloo,
- Western University,
- Wilfrid Laurier University,
- University of Windsor, or
- York University.
