CHED Merit Scholarship Program (AY 2025–2026)

Who may apply

  • Graduating Senior High School Students with strong academic performance
  • Incoming 1st Year College Students enrolled in CHED-recognized priority programs
  • Filipino students from households earning below ₱500,000 annually
  • Applicants who are PWDs, solo parents’ dependents, or underprivileged/homeless citizens (with proof)

Benefits

Scholars may enjoy the following benefits:

  • Full or partial tuition coverage (up to ₱40,000/year for private HEIs or free tuition in SUCs/LUCs)
  • Annual or semestral stipend (up to ₱70,000/year or ₱35,000/semester)
  • Book and connectivity allowance (up to ₱10,000/year or ₱5,000/semester)
  • Total benefits range from ₱20,000 to ₱120,000 depending on type of scholarship and institution

Qualifications

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

  • Must be a Filipino citizen
  • Must be a graduating high school student or high school graduate
  • Must have a GWA of:

    • At least 96% for Full Merit
    • 93% to 95% for Half Merit
  • Household annual gross income must not exceed ₱500,000
  • Must not be a beneficiary of any other government-funded scholarship
  • Must enroll in a CHED-recognized priority program offered by SUCs, LUCs (with COPC), or PHEIs
  • Must belong to at least one special sector (with valid documentation):

    • Underprivileged and Homeless Citizens
    • Persons with Disability (PWDs)
    • Solo Parents and their Dependents
