Bagong Pilipinas Barangay Presidential Scholars Program
Who May Apply
- College students requiring financial assistance to continue and complete their studies
- Residents of the barangay where they intend to apply
- Priority may be given to incoming 4th-year college students for SY 2026–2027
- Students from vulnerable or financially disadvantaged households who may be at risk of discontinuing their studies
- Priority may also be given to applicants whose families have no member who has completed tertiary education
- Depending on local guidelines and the availability of qualified applicants, some barangays may also consider:
- Incoming 3rd-year college students
- TESDA scholars holding National Certificates
- Students in their 5th or 6th year who are expected to graduate during SY 2026–2027
- Incoming 3rd-year college students
Benefits
Scholars may enjoy the following benefits:
- One-time educational assistance of ₱20,000 per selected scholar
- Financial support for school-related expenses, which may include:
- Tuition balances
- supplies and learning materials
- Transportation expenses
- Daily school allowance
- Internet, printing, projects, and other education-related costs
- Up to five scholars may be selected from each participating barangay
Qualifications
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
- Must be a resident of the barangay where the application is submitted
- Must be currently enrolled in college or belong to another student category permitted under the implementing barangay’s guidelines
- Must demonstrate a need for educational assistance or risk of discontinuing studies because of financial difficulty
- Priority may be given to incoming 4th-year college students for SY 2026–2027
- Must submit the documents required by the barangay or local government unit, which may include:
- School ID or valid identification
- Certificate of enrollment
- Latest grades or academic records
- Proof of barangay residency
- Contact information
- Must comply with any additional eligibility, documentary, screening, and selection requirements issued locally
