Swiss Government Excellence Research Fellowship

Who may apply

  • Open to highly talented young artists wishing to pursue their first Master’s degree in Switzerland.
  • Applicants must come from countries eligible under the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship program.
  • Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) completed by 31 July 2026.
  • Applicants must be born after 31 December 1990.
  • Applicants must not yet hold a Master’s degree at the start of the scholarship.
  • Applicants must present an admission letter or proof of application to a Swiss University of the Arts or Conservatory.
  • If the applicant already resides in Switzerland, their date of entry must not be earlier than 1 August 2025.
  • Priority is given to individuals who have not previously studied or conducted research in Switzerland.

Benefits

Scholars may enjoy the following benefits:

  • A monthly stipend of CHF 1,920 to cover basic living expenses for one person.
  • Opportunity to pursue full-time Master’s studies at a Swiss art school or conservatory.
  • Scholarship duration of 12 months, extendable up to 21 months, depending on the program’s ECTS credit requirements.

Qualifications

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

  • Must be a citizen of an eligible country under the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship program.
  • Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent by 31 July 2026.
  • Must be born after 31 December 1990.
  • Must not yet hold a Master’s degree at the start of the scholarship.
  • Must provide an admission letter or proof of application to a Swiss University of the Arts or Conservatory.
  • If residing in Switzerland, must have entered no earlier than 1 August 2025.
