GSIS STEM Scholarship Program – 2026

Who May Apply

  • Incoming first-year college students pursuing four- or five-year bachelor’s degree programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
  • Children of qualified regular and active GSIS members with permanent employment status
  • Children of eligible Permanent Total Disability pensioners below 60 years old during the application period
  • Students accepted by a CHED-recognized college or university in the Philippines
  • Priority may be given to applicants who are Persons with Disabilities, Indigenous Peoples, or children of solo parents
  • Up to 1,000 scholars may be selected annually

Benefits

Scholars may enjoy the following benefits:

  • Annual educational subsidy of ₱15,000 for the duration of an eligible four- or five-year degree program
  • Grant releases based on the school’s academic calendar:
    • ₱7,500 per semester
    • ₱5,000 per trimester
    • ₱3,750 per quarter
  • Additional incentives for scholars graduating with Latin honors:
    • ₱50,000 – Summa Cum Laude
    • ₱30,000 – Magna Cum Laude
    • ₱20,000 – Cum Laude
  • Financial support intended to help cover school and other education-related expenses

Qualifications

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

GSIS member-applicant:

  • Must be a regular and active GSIS member with permanent employment status
  • Must have Salary Grade 15 or below, or its equivalent job grade
  • Must have updated GSIS premium payments
  • May nominate only one child for the duration of the program
  • An eligible Permanent Total Disability pensioner must be below 60 years old during the application period

 

Child applicant:

  • Must be the child of a qualified GSIS member or eligible PTD pensioner
  • Must be an incoming first-year college student
  • Must be accepted into a four- or five-year GSIS-identified STEM bachelor’s degree program
  • Must enroll in a CHED-recognized college or university in the Philippines
  • Must have a Senior High School General Weighted Average of at least 90%
  • Must have no failing grade in Senior High School
  • Must maintain a college GWA of at least 85% to retain the scholarship
  • Must submit the required application form, birth certificate, proof of the member’s employment or pension status, school certification, and Senior High School report card
